Biography - Chris T. Harris, Esquire

Chris originally hails from the State of Arkansas, but moved to the State of Florida during high school.  Following his graduation from the University of North Florida (http://www.unf.edu/) in 1992, Chris returned to Arkansas for law school, graduating from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock School of Law (http://ualr.edu/law/) in 1996.

Following graduation, Chris returned to Florida and became a member of the Florida Bar in 1997. Chris has practiced law continuously in Florida since that time. In addition to being a member of the Florida Bar, Chris is admitted to practice in the United States Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals, and the Northern, Middle and Southern Federal District Courts of Florida.  Chris also has filing privileges with the Northern, Middle and Southern Federal Bankruptcy Courts.  

Chris began his legal career as in-house counsel for the Chapter 13 Bankruptcy Trustee in Jacksonville, Florida.  Chris next worked as in-house counsel for a financial services company, providing legal advice on a variety of corporate, banking, tax and trust matters.  

In 2002, Chris decided to pursue a career in litigation, and accepted a position with the highly regarding international law firm, Holland and Knight, LLP.  Between 2002 and 2004, Chris worked with great lawyers in varied and interesting litigation matters at the Jacksonville office of Holland and Knight.  The experience and mentoring Chris obtained at Holland and Knight was invaluable to his growth as a lawyer.  

From 2004 to 2012, Chris practiced law at the Jacksonville boutique litigation firm, Volpe, Bajalia, Wickes, Rogerson and Wachs, P.A., where he not only continued his practice in civil litigation but began practicing matrimonial litigation as well. Chris went from associate to partner to shareholder at VBWR&W. Chris was blessed to work at VBWR&W where he worked with excellent lawyers and fantastic people, and made lifelong friends.

In 2012, VBWR&W merged with the excellent regional firm, Adams and Reese LLP. Chris enjoyed his time with Adams and Reese where he continued with his matrimonial and civil litigation practice.  Adams and Reese is a great law firm, with talented lawyers and wonderful people.

In November 2014, after spending sixteen years either as in-house counsel or with a law firm, Chris made the decision to form his own law firm and apply his skills and talents to representing local, Northeast Florida individuals and businesses with their matrimonial and civil litigation matters. Harris Trial Law, P.A. opened its doors November 10, 2014 and is welcoming new clients.  Harris Trial Law's mission is to provide personal, effective and compassionate legal services to clients at a reasonable cost.
